ADOLESCENT SERVICES
ACADIA does not offer services to adolescents as part of its CARF-accredited day treatment program. However, outpatient diagnostic services for children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 18 years are provided by our licensed neuropsychologist, and outpatient therapeutic services are offered to this population by one of our licensed professional counselors. Individual and family counseling is also available to treat problems associated with neurodevelopmental conditions or brain injury, including stress management, anxiety, depression, and poor self-esteem.

Diagnostic assessment utilizes a neuropsychoeducational battery of tests combined with clinical observation and information from parents and teachers to provide relevant and user-friendly information about learning, memory, attention, executive functioning, auditory and language processing, visual-spatial skills and academic skills. A written report of findings includes recommendations to assist with medical treatment, educational planning and accommodations, and behavior management.

ACADIA, through its participation with the Pennsylvania BrainSTEPS initiative, is able to send a licensed professional counselor and certified brain injury specialist to consult with and provide in-service training for educators on Brain Injury for any student in Lancaster or Lebanon counties. This counselor can help educators better understand a student’s strengths, weakness and educational needs, and is available to attend MDE and IEP meetings. These services are free of charge.
