DAY TREATMENT SERVICES
The ACADIA Day Treatment Program provides a structured day designed to assist the individual with a neurological impairment in developing adaptive skills that can enable him/her to resume effective community living. Programming focuses on specific clinical evaluations and therapies, pre- vocational needs, interpersonal and social relationships, family, community, educational and work adjustments. The program is individualized to each person's specific needs, criterion-based and goal-oriented.

Multi-sensory training intervention may be provided and various individualized programming and strategies are used in addressing the physical, cognitive, behavioral, social and daily living skills. These re-learned or adaptive life skills are applied and assessed in real life settings. Thus, part of ACADIA's programming takes place in stores, restaurants, banks, on buses, and other environs in which the individual may be challenged as he or she develops increased independence. In addition to group programming, individualized therapy is provided by the ACADIA team.
