RESPITE SERVICES
Respite care at ACADIA is typically short-term and temporary care provided to people with disabilities. Respite care may be provided over extended periods of time on a case-to-case basis, and can be provided during the day, overnight, or both.

Respite care is offered primarily to give family members a break from the daily routine of providing care and to temporarily relieve the stress family members may experience while providing care. Individuals receiving services during the day will participate in structured group programming. Individualized programming may also be arranged as needed.

Individuals receiving respite residential care will receive evening and awake overnight supervision and support, with all ADL’s and may participate in all residential activities.

All candidates must be 18 years of age or older, medically stable and not require 24-hour medical care. Candidates must be psychiatrically stable, not be actively using alcohol or other related drugs, and not exhibit patterns of aggressive/disruptive behaviors.

Additional information and detail on admission criteria are available upon request.
