SERVICES FOR OUR VETERANS
ACADIA is honored to provide residential and day treatment services to our veterans of the armed forces. Our clinical treatment team has received training from the Center for Deployment Psychology, part of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. This team includes our Director of Neuropsychology, our Clinical Director, Licensed Professional Counselors and Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapists. These clinicians understand military culture and the nature and treatment of injuries sustained in combat, including PTSD, acquired brain injury and traumatic brain injury due to blasts.

ACADIA has 25 years experience in providing treatment, in a community-integrated setting, to individuals whose brain injuries range in severity and whose ability to live independently and work competitively may be compromised. Our full-range therapeutic services include neuropsychology, cognitive rehabilitation therapy, counseling, speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and case management. We also offer supportive counseling services and a monthly support group for family members.

ACADIA’s residential staff provides round-the-clock care to those who live in our community-integrated apartments. Our apartments offer private bedrooms for each person. Staff assists each resident as needed in all activities of daily living, and schedule a wide variety of activities within the community.  Our residential staff receives ongoing training in understanding military culture and about issues related to providing services to veterans. We are familiar with local veterans’ organizations that host activities and events within the community, and facilitate connections to these organizations and with veterans in the community.
